On 11 September 2026, peacefully at Aberleigh Village aged 69 years.

Cherished mother and mother-in-law to Robert and Megan Honour, Sophie and Glenn Brady and Chloe and Ben Macky.

Grandmother of Hudson, Jackson, Honour, Mia, Heidi and Arnie.

Loved daughter to the late Edward and Jan Catley.

Loved sister of Brian Catley, Andrea Taylor and their families and a special friend to many.

You will be forever held in our hearts.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to all the incredible staff at Aberleigh Rest Home Dementia Unit and Ernest Rutherford Retirement Village (Nelson) for their care and support of Raewyn and her family.

In accordance with Raewyn’s wishes, a private memorial will be held at a later date.

Thinking of you all at this sad time.
Way back in 1976 Raewyn nursed me in ward 2 Wairau hospital.
I was a long term patient and some days were pretty tough , without Raewyn’s love, care and amazing sense of humor it would have been alot tougher.
What an amazing lady , I am so saddened to learn of her passing.

Life has be unfair to Raewyn in these last few years, her stolen memories and muted awareness of present time.
It has been a tough journey for you all, and we have felt for you along the way.
We have had people tell us that Raewyn was an exceptional nurse in her working life. We know she has raised three ‘wonderful’ human beings, Chloe, Rob and Sophie, all have their own beautiful children now. She must have been so proud of you all.

I have often thought of Raewyn, I am sad that her life was cut short by dementia as I know it was not what she wanted. She was a happy, crazy, enthusiastic soul. She was a great nurse and brought joy to so many patients. She will be remembered by so many people for all of the sunshine she brought to their lives.
I still smile at so many of her quotes and quick retorts.

So sorry to hear of Raewyn’s passing we used to enjoy many a fun happy night at Wairau hospital, she used to laugh us through the night however busy we were. My elder daughters used to babysit her children in Alabama Rd and since l have moved to Kaiapoi she has called in a couple of times when Robert was going trough post accident treatment. I am so sad at her young passing but just hope she is in a happier place now where the laughter and jokes can continue, be happy Raewyn xx
