WELLS, Naomi Lynne “Nane” (nee Johnson):

Passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Sunday, 2 August 2026, at Hospice Marlborough.

Beloved wife of Peter.

Cherished mother and mother-in-law of Jen and Gavin Sim, and Grady and Jolanda.

Adored Geggie to Kate and Ype (Auckland), and Josh and Katherine (Melbourne).

Much loved great-Geggie to Scotty.

Loved sister-in-law to Jean and Dave Stark (Christchurch), and Keith and Kathy Wells (Cust).

Loved by all her nieces and nephews.

A heartfelt thanks to Wairau Hospital and Hospice Marlborough for your care of Nane.

Although Nane loved and appreciated flowers, donations to Hospice Marlborough would be more beneficial to help support others and can be made via Marlborough Hospice Trust 06-0601-0148609-00 ref WELLS.

A memorial service for Nane will be held at the Church of Nativity, 76 Alfred Street, Blenheim on Friday, 14 August at 1pm. The service will be livestreamed; the link can be found below.

To Mr Wells, Jen and Grady.
Condolences on your loss. I used to love our visits with Nane (and yourselves if you were home). My mum and I would call in on our way home from our visits to Birch Hill and there would always be a cup of tea and a slice of cake on offer. I always admire what I refer to as ‘Nane’s Garden’ whenever I walk past it. The Dahlias and the daffodils always look so lovely. (Next to the Brights garden) so I will continue to think of her whenever I pass by. I am unable to attend today but am there with you via the livestream

Hi Pete Jenny Gavin Grady and Yolanda
We are sorry that we weren’t able to be there to share in nanes remembrance. You as a family have been a big part of our lives and we really appreciate it. Pete you and nane have always been wonderful hosts to us and many others and we thank you for that although why you always searched my car to make sure we didn’t steal anything still puzzles me. We will remember nane as a godly woman with a kind heart and full cake tins. She will be sadly missed but Grady said she is now with her lord and saviour where she desired to be.
We will always remember her beautiful smile and will miss those cups of tea. Our love is with you all.
