Heather and I first met each other crewing on Sweet Pea. She was both a guiding and trusted hand once I started flying Sweet Pea many years ago. She was never afraid to give me and earful for forgetting something or not landing where she intended me to land but she always always there offer a helping hand. She bought so many laughs to our adventures out ballooning. I’m sad to have not been able to make it down there today. I went flying today to honor my dear friend.
Balloonist have a prayer for after flight:
The Winds have Welcomed you with softness.
The Sun has blessed you with its warm hands.
You have flown so high and so well
that God has joined you in your laughter
and set you gently back again
into the loving arms of Mother Earth.
Fair winds and safe landings my friend, I hope you found finally found Jesus.

Dear Andrew, David and Michael,
It was a privilege to attend Aunty Heather’s funeral today. Thank you for arranging the live video stream.
Aunty Heather was never far from my thoughts, and I have and will always remember the fun and laughter we shared together. Especially as a young girl growing up. She taught me to drive when I was 13 but I wasn’t allowed to tell anyone! Spending time with her when she was working in Christchurch was often the highlight of my week. I am so glad I saw her in Blenheim not so long ago. You may also remember that I cared for the 3 of you. Some things are just never forgotten, and Aunty Heather is one person who I will never forget.
Sending my deepest condolences.
Katy from Cairns.

Words are too flimsy to describe this wonderful beacon of Jesus. She is now where she always wanted to be. 2 Corinthians 4.18.

Heather you were someone I look up to untill our life paths went in different directions. As our DAD gave us all permission to go out into the world and to find our own answers, regards to the purpose of our Life here on earth. What a very wise man he was.
Your journey on earth is now behind you your inner struggles are now layed to rest . As your new journey has begun God and his Angel’s have you in their keeping . As Dad would say ,” make sure you use all the gifts you were born with,” And Heather your gift were many. My heart felt love goes out to all those who will feel the loss of your earthly presence. Rest in peace. Beautiful Memories are precious to me.
Love from Your Baby Sister
