NELSON, David James:

It is with deep sadness that we announce that David James Nelson (previously of Waverley Dunedin) has died, aged 94.

David was the dearly beloved husband, best friend, and more recently devoted carer of the late Valerie.

Much loved father and father-in-law of Karen and Bob, Craig and Julie.

Adored grandfather of Shaun, Emily, and Angus.

Loved brother of Dawn Taylor, and uncle to her family.

Deeply respected by his extended family in Australia and all who knew him.

David was made a life member of Dunedin Golf Club (Chisholm Links) in 2009.

A farewell for David was held on Wednesday 18 March.

Dave worked at Hillside railway workshops a fitter who worked on steam & then Diesel Electric Locos, He became an apprentice instructor for many years in the apprentice school, A Very popular & Knowledgable teacher amonst the apprentices.
