Passed away suddenly at Wairau Hospital on Friday, 11 September 2026.

Son of the late Rita and Pak Lim.

Father of Steve, Gina and Ashleigh.

Brother of Lewis, Winton and the late Glynis and Siu Moy.

Grandfather to Fox and uncle to many.

Proud partner of Sandra and beloved friend to her family.

A service will be held at the Church of Nativity, 76 Alfred Street, Blenheim, on Friday, September 18, 2026, at 11:00 am.

Limbo always had a cheeky grin and took great enjoyment out of giving me a hard time.
We have crossed paths over the years.

Great friend and workmate from our days at TransOtway to Halls. We had soo many laughs along the way with you always being the troublemaker alas your nickname being Stir Fry. I will always remember the good and sometimes bad days we had around the country but we still made the best of the situation. I will miss our phone calls late at night.
Don’t make too much trouble in heaven and I will have a rum for you on Friday.

I have known Steve for many years as a member of the church family at Christ Church Ellerslie Auckland.Steve was a very faithful parishioner, much respected and very much valued. His friendliness, good nature and great sense of humour drew people to him . Steve went out of his way to be helpful and to go the second mile. He was also a proud member of the Defence Force and it was our privilege to have him read the Anzac Day Ode in our church on the Sunday close to Anzac Day each year. My sincere sympathy to Sandra and all members of Steve’s family .He will be much missed.

I have known Steve from the time I became the Vicar of the Parish of Ellerslie & Mt Wellington. We have had many adventures together in meeting up with people in the community and enjoying meals and various cuisines in the strangest occasions.
