Tribute from Joan & Alvin Constable –

Thinking of you all today as you celebrate and farewell one sassy lady. She loved life to the full and always saw the glass as half full. Farewell Aunty Lou until we meet again. Sweet Dreams.

Tribute from Grant George –

Auntie Lou was my last surviving auntie. My favourite Uncle Ray is Dads brother.
Sadly, I can’t be there to celebrate her life with family and friends.
I struggle to seperate Lou from Ray. They were so beautifully matched yet quite different. Lou was like the fibre of the artist brush , expressive, colourful and boldly creative where Ray was the steady handle holding the fibre with love. The picture they painted together was a unified loving family.
Lou always welcomed me in true West Coast style when I visited from up north. Her energetic presence was contagious. She exuded forthright authenticity with a sharp intellect which made the visits enthusiastically enjoyable.
Today I planted a kōwhai tree on the track to the huge Puriri tree I mediate under daily. The bright yellow tubular flowers blooming in spring will remind me of Lou and Ray who are deep in my bones of remembrance.
Travel in peace and love.
