On 28th May 2026, peacefully at Hospice Marlborough aged 76 years.

Dearly loved husband of Bev for 51 years; father to Michael and Andrew; and father-in-law to Josh and Rebecca. Cherished grandfather of Oscar and Zoe; brother of Ann, Jill, Ian and the late Ross; and friend to many. You will be greatly missed and forever held in our hearts.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to all the staff at Hospice Marlborough for their care and support of Jim and his family.

A family gathering to celebrate Jim’s life will be held at Sowman’s Funerals Mayfield Chapel, corner Hutcheson and Parker Streets, on Wednesday 3rd June 2026 at 1:00pm. Friends are welcome to come and share memories together. Following this gathering a private cremation will be held.

To Bev and Family,
We are thinking of you today as you farewell a loving husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather of the Curry Family.
On behalf of Jim’s former work colleagues at NAC and AIR NZ Nelson Branch we extend our condolences to you and your family.
On a personal note, I can remember back to the day that Jim and I, had to take down the National Airways signage from behind the Traffic counters at Nelson Airport prior to the Merger of the two airlines.
